Citizens for Better Roads and Bridges
We are volunteers advocating for passage of Question #1 on the November ballot – a one-penny sales tax increase to fund improvements that will make Beaufort County a safer place to live and work. We are deeply concerned about the deteriorating condition of our roads and bridges — and believe that without safer and more efficient bridges, accident rates will climb. In addition, we believe that our troubled infrastructure will result in a decrease in tourism – meaning higher taxes for residents as well as threat of reduced public services.
With the support of many civic and business organizations from throughout the county, as well as enthusiastic support from countless individuals throughout the community, we are seeking approval of the Beaufort Penny Referendum on the November 6th ballot. As longtime community members committed to preserving the safety and quality of life of all of us throughout Beaufort County, we are confident that the passage of this referendum is a critical step in making our roads and bridges safer, relieving traffic congestion – and improving the quality of life for Beaufort County residents both now and for many years to come.
